7th All-Russian Students “Chinese Bridge” Language Proficiency Contest Took Place in Nizhny Novgorod for the First Time.
April 20th , 2018, for the first time in Nizhny Novgorod the 7th All-Russian Students “Chinese Bridge” Language Proficiency Contest took place in Nizhny Novgorod State Academic Philharmonic Hall. In 2018 the theme of the contest was “One World – One Family”. The event was jointly organized by Linguistics University of Nizhny Novgorod Confucius Institute and the Department of Education of the Chinese Embassy in Russia. 35 contestants united into 7 teams according to their respective regions in Russia arrived in Nizhny Novgorod to compete in their mastery of the Chinese language, history and culture.
Such honorary guests as LUNN Rector Boris Zhigalev, Acting Director of Foreign Affairs Department in the Nizhegorodskaya Oblast Government Vladimir Prelov, Plenipotentiary Minister-Counsellor for Education Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Russia Yu Jihai, Consul-General of the Chinese Consulate-General in the city of Kazan Wu Yingqin and others greeted the participants.
The contest consisted of four stages: 1) “My Favorite Chinese and Russian Cities” team presentations, 2) individual off-hand speeches to the randomly selected topics, 3) artistic performances, 4) panel game.
As a result of an intense struggle during the four stages of the contest the following prize-winners were determined by the 4-member jury:
1st prize – Vlasovky Artyom,
2nd prize – Ustinov Ruslan,
3rd prize – Trufanova Yulia,
4th prize – Borovchenko Daria,
5th prize – Erdyneeva Dezhid.
The Saint-Petersburg Consular District Team was awarded the BEST TEAM title. The Best Chinese Pronunciation Award was given to Ustinov Ruslan, and the Best Artistic Performance Award was given to Sosedov Dmitry.
